The affordable ferry access and reasonable admission make it a great value. Some note that reaching it requires a ferry, and guides are primarily in Spanish, though translations are available.
"I had a wonderful time exploring the castle, which is well preserved and worth the admission fee of 50 CUB. I took the ferry from the boot location near Hotel Pasacaballos, which was very convenient and frequent. The castle was just a short walk from the ferry terminal on the other side. I enjoyed wandering around the castle by myself, but you can also hire a guide if you want to learn more about the history. The visit took me about an hour, and I also loved taking photos of the charming village nearby."

"A nice day trip by boat across the river. The castle is very interesting with a small museum and a guide (Spanish) is helpful. The views are spectacular. The steps and spiral staircase might be difficult to navigate so wear good shoes. There is a working draw bridge which is very interesting and rare so do t miss this."
