"This is actually my favourite museum in Cesky Krumlov. The history is interesting but even more so is the theatre itself. Going under the stage to see trap doors and seeing the demo on the sound effects was really something else. The tour guide was so passionate about the customer experience, that she pleaded with her boss to let them have hands-on experience with the sound effect equipment. We really had fun with those. She was also very thorough and engaging in her explanations and replies to our questions. I highly recommend this tour."

Had a good introductory brief by guide, before showing us the mechanics of the world’s oldest baroque theatre. Was shown comprehensive 15mins video on the workings of the theatre. Tour ended thereafter.
The theatrical appreciation of that time frame was fully showcased; most impressive was the optical illusion created for the audience.
While it was a good experience, it could have been better if …
- a sample display of the preserved costumes (600+) was included
- a little demonstration of the change of scenery/props
- a little time to just take take photos or to appreciate its ambiance and significance. (45mins was a bit short)"
