What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the breathtaking views from the outdoor thermal pool and the relaxing warmth of the water. The variety of saunas and the unique sauna ceremonies are also highly praised. However, some guests find the directions confusing and the changing rooms/saunas to be a cultural adjustment due to their mixed-gender and clothing-optional nature. A few reviews mention issues with unfriendly staff.
"Pool with the greatest view! I really enjoyed it. We visited after 6 pm, so had a chance to see the view in daylight and after the sunset. Thermal pool warm and very relaxing. Various saunas to choose from. It’s nice that towel is included in the price. I haven’t seen slides or other playground for infants, so this is rather for adults or older children. Personally consider it a plus :)"
Dominika Joanna
"Amazing view from the pool! 2 swimming pools outside, one with water features and lanes and other one a hot spring pool. The saunas were lovely, lots of different kinds. We went to a sauna ceremony which was amazing, very much enjoyed."
Rachael
"The pools were very interesting. One was cooler with chlorine and various types of springs, and the other one sprouted water from the natural iron-water in Karlovy Vary. The view of the town was great! The only issue I had was figuring out how to access the pools. I also was unable to find the sauna. Confusing directions. However, I recommend this place!"

The Healing Waters of Karlovy Vary
Beyond the main outdoor pool, the resort offers a variety of saunas, each with its own unique temperature and humidity levels. These are designed to provide a comprehensive wellness experience, from invigorating steam rooms to dry heat saunas. The inclusion of sauna ceremonies, often led by trained professionals, adds an extra layer of indulgence, involving aromatherapy and exfoliation rituals.
It's important to note that the spa culture in Central Europe can differ from other parts of the world. Many visitors, particularly those from Anglo-Saxon cultures, have noted the mixed-gender and clothing-optional nature of the sauna areas. While this might be a cultural adjustment for some, it's a common practice in European thermal baths and saunas, aimed at promoting a sense of communal relaxation and well-being.
Maximizing Your Visit: Tips from Travelers
For those looking to experience the resort at its most serene, visiting on a weekday is highly recommended. Weekends, especially during peak season, can see a significant influx of visitors, leading to crowded pools. Many guests find that arriving after 6 PM offers a dual benefit: fewer crowds and the spectacular sight of Karlovy Vary illuminated at sunset. This timing allows for a more relaxed and visually stunning experience.
When it comes to the sauna experience, be prepared for a different cultural norm. The saunas are often mixed-gender and clothing-optional. While this might be a surprise for some, it's a common practice in European spas. Embracing this aspect can lead to a more authentic and immersive wellness journey.
