What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Dominica Museum to be a small but informative gem, offering a valuable overview of the island's history, culture, and geology for a modest fee. While not elaborate, the exhibits are well-presented and provide a good foundation for understanding Dominica. The air-conditioned space and friendly staff are frequently highlighted as positives.
"We enjoyed our visit here. Head up the stairs to the 2nd floor and pay the posted $3 US per person to enter (I see another review says $5 US so maybe there are seasonal differences?). Staff quietly pleasant and welcoming enough. The exhibits are not fancy but provide a good amount of information on Dominica’s history, culture, people, geology, and flora. There are historical photos, artifacts like a dugout canoe, and art. To me, the creators have done a wonderful job of providing info in summary form fit for a wide span of audience interests. I believe that most folks will spend 30 to 60 minutes here. Please check out my photos herein."

"A good starting point to exploring Dominica. Small museum, but you still learn a lot on this small island nation. I went to the island for the jungle and outdoor activities, but now I'm clued up on all the history. I also very much enjoyed the volcanic exhibition and being educated on the plate tectonics of the Caribbean region. This took up a large part of the museum. Also the staff were cool. Typical Caribbean - breezy and friendly. They gave out the WiFi code readily, and we were glad to have it at the time. That, and the air con. The museum is located in the main port in Roseau and was cheap too. Definitely worth a visit"
