What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dominicus Beach is celebrated for its stunning white sands and clear turquoise waters, often lauded as one of the DR's best beaches. Visitors appreciate the sargassum-free conditions (though this can change) and the vibrant atmosphere, especially at resorts like Viva Wyndham. However, some find the beach overly crowded and are frustrated by resorts claiming private beach access, leading to a 'hustle' environment with persistent vendors.
"Dominicus beach Bayahibe 29.09.2025 It was invaded since yesterday with sargassum ( sargazo) Thease are the pictures from today and hopefully our holiday won't be completely ruined. The staff are cleaning the beach at the moment. Its our third day at Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus and we are very sad about the invasion of sargassum as we chose Bayahibe over Punta Cana by the reason that its sargassum free as the internet and reviews were stating but this is mother nature and you can't trust anything please know the risk before deciding to go to the Caribbean islands.
Update: The sargassum was removed from the beach within two days and the beach was perfect."
