Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate the tranquil atmosphere and the stunning panoramic views of the Imbabura volcano and San Pablo Lake. The scenic drive, especially for cyclists, is a highlight. However, many note that the main tree has perished, and the site lacks amenities, with a broken information plaque. The challenging navigation to reach the viewpoint is also a common point of feedback. Reddit

"The place is easy to access, but the tree seems to be sprouting. As a sacred and historical landmark I consider this visit essential."

Paula Dalmau Álvarez

"Tranquil place above Otavalo with fantastic view on Imbabura volcano and San Pablo lake."

Miha Urbanija

"This was a great viewpoint for looking around the surrounding area. Unfortunately the larger tree has now parished and only some small pieces remain. As a viewpoint and peaceful space, it is nice. But the info plaque is broken and there isn't much else to do after looking at the views. It's also a rather rugged drive to this spot with a stretch of dirt road and very little too tell you where to go. Google Maps tried to send us down every horse path and impassible road on the way up. It probably took us a half hour more than it should have to find the place. A local taxi would probably know the best way... Just don't necessarily trust Maps at the moment."
