The site is well-maintained, making for a pleasant and peaceful visit. 🏞️

Majapahit was the last Hindu-Buddhist Empire in the archipelago, the name Majapahit was taken from the name of the Maja fruit which taste “pahit” or bitter, therefore the name of the kingdom was called Majapahit!

The site is described as peaceful, energizing, and a must-visit, especially for families. The ethically sourced gift shop also receives positive mentions.

"Tiny museum , but worth to see."

Rosine Davies

"Such an energizing, peaceful and historic site! The museum’s staff and security was AWESOME and extremely ATTENTIVE. Flor, our museum tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel like we traveled back in time.

I also noticed the museum’s products in their gift shop are ethically sustainable as their products come from local artisans and of direct fair trade (or from their own talented staff!). We also had Andrea, another museum staff member, share with us a few samples of the products and the unique significance of them.

Excellent staff, excellent artifacts, excellent scholars, and excellent service!

The whole place, I would recommend at least an hour (maybe 2) to go through the 4 exhibits + sacred / historic sites."

Bianca

"This museum is really a must and recently renewed. One of the best archeological sites in Ecuador."
