What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Aquarium Grotto Garden a peaceful, affordable escape on Zamalek island, appreciated for its green spaces, historic caves, and giant tortoises. While the aquarium aspect is diminished, the garden offers a quiet break from Cairo's hustle. Some reviews note cleanliness issues and underfunding, but many still recommend it for its charm and photo opportunities, especially when the Cairo Flea Market is held.
"It's still pretty quiet there, especially on weekends. I went there on my bike, and it was a really emotional experience because it brought back childhood memories. It was fun seeing all the teenagers roller skating and skateboarding. It's a good place to take a quick break if you're tired. It's not a huge park, but it'll do the job during your busy day to get away from the city's hustle and bustle, even though it's not super clean and could use some more attention."

"Waste of time. The park is so dirty and unkempt that it loses its charm. Whole park was very dusty and dirty. Kids of young age came here to hang out with thier maybe ‘truly forever partner’.
Aquarium is nice. But so visibly underfunded. They have interesting reptiles that you can see up close. Go there if you are interested otherwise don’t bother.
FYI- you have to pay cash for tickets."
