What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cairo Tower offers spectacular panoramic views of the city, making it a must-visit for many. Visitors praise the breathtaking vistas, especially at sunset and night, and the unique revolving restaurant experience. However, be prepared for potentially long waiting times for elevators and inconsistent service at the cafe.
"The tower is beautiful, great for photo opportunities. There's a café, gift shop, and a restaurant (prices are good and rhe food is of excellent quality, they offered live music even on a Tuesday evening). The only downside is the waiting time to go up; we waited for 2 hours, after enjoying the view we needed to wait another hour for our turn to go down the elevator. We asked if it'd be allowed to go down the stairs since we had 4 children with us, unfortunately it was prohibited to use the stairs. This is the only thing that management needs to revisit; waiting times and crowd management. Other than that it was amazing."

"Easily one of the best views in Cairo. I’d recommend going with a group or a tour guide that speaks Arabic. The place is very popular so you’d most likely have to wait for a bit but there’s a restaurant in the compound where you can get some lovely food and drink as you wait. I tried one of their smoothies and wow!"

"We arrived around 2 pm. There was a 10 mn wait. 100 for Egyptians, 350 for non-Egyptians.
You purchase tickets and then wait for the elevators. The view is phenomenal! Absolutely breathtaking. The bathroom is clean.
The Sky Cafe could do better. The staff were chatting and not very attentive to the guests.
The cheesecake arrived warm and too soft. The cappuccino was good. The molten cake with ice cream was also good. Employees shouldn't smoke in the restaurant.
In summary, the view was incredible, but the cafe wasn't worth it."

The Iconic Architecture
The tower's design is not just aesthetic; it's also functional, housing an observation deck, a revolving restaurant, and other amenities. The intricate mosaic work is a testament to the craftsmanship involved in its creation, and it continues to be a focal point for visitors appreciating its unique form. It's a symbol of Cairo's blend of ancient heritage and modern aspirations.
Navigating the Views and Queues
However, accessing these views often involves significant waiting times. Reviews frequently mention queues of 1.5 to 2 hours for the elevators. Some visitors suggest that dining at the revolving restaurant or paying an extra fee can help bypass these lines, though this comes at a higher cost. Managing expectations regarding queues is crucial for a smoother visit.
Dining with a Difference
While the view is a major draw, the food quality receives mixed reviews. Some diners rave about the delicious dishes and reasonable prices, noting that it can be a worthwhile alternative to waiting in line for the observation deck. Others have found the service to be less attentive or the food quality to be inconsistent.
