What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Akraberg Lighthouse for its stunning, remote coastal scenery and the unique feeling of being at the 'end of the world.' The chance to spot puffins in summer is a major highlight. However, some find the drive challenging due to road conditions and wish for clearer signage to confirm they are on public access land.
"Beautiful place to take in a sunset and nature. There is a small step ladder to go over the fence near the gate. We were the only people around in mid-May. It is very nice. I wish there was a little more signage, so you know you aren't trespassing on private property. Had a nice clear view to Munkurin."

"Beautiful lighthouse. It’s unclear on how to get to it, but as you walk down the grassy path you will see a little wooden step in the fence that you can use to climb over it. Much safer than walking outside of the fence on the edge of the cliff. Once you get to the light house keep walking past it and you will arrive at a great view point."
Clynton Beukes
"Went there in a foggy and rainy day. Not so sure it worth the drive or not as there is a house and a lighthouse and pretty much it. There are a few travelers came by, mostly spent 5mins and left. Consider going only if the weather it’s clear, but I doubt there would be much better spots and hikes around the island if you only have a single day here."
