Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Archipelago Trail for its stunning natural beauty and unique island-hopping experience via ferries. Many recommend cycling or kayaking for the best immersion. However, planning is crucial due to potential long ferry waits and limited accommodation, especially during peak season.

"Great place to visit. Take big archipelago road (Saariston rengastie) and make a lot of stops. There a lot of things to see."

ravenssx

"The archipelago trail (Saariston rengastie) is something that you may wish to plan well beforehand. This about 250km long route with 8 ferries (7 free ones) can provide an enjoyable drive and some nice sceneries but should be planned for. The roads are mostly inland, very small roads where you will not see the shoreline. The accommodation must be booked early as there may not be anywhere to stay otherwise. Many private roads cross the main road and there can be limited access to the shoreline. Renting a boat might be an idea. Nevertheless there are a few nice small villages worth the visit. Also, do prepare for the ferries as during peak times there can be a wait for hours!"

Yanni H

"Absolute pearl of Finnish nature. Many ways to explore it, by the sea and on the road. There are bicycle routes, kayaking trips, ferry destinations, cottage resorts and many guest ports for boats."
