"This is an Egyptian style obelisk monument situated at Kauppatori. It was created by Carl Ludvig Engel and was erected in 1835 to commemorate the first visit of Russian Empress Alexandra Feodorovna two years earlier with Emperor Nicholas I. It is the oldest pubic monument in Helsinki.
