Reviews Summary

Rauhaniemi Folk Spa is lauded for its authentic, high-heat Finnish sauna experience and invigorating lake dips. Visitors appreciate the communal atmosphere and the ability to bring their own food and drinks. However, some find the facilities basic and the changing rooms cramped during peak times.

"40th Finnish sauna review: An iconic Tampere sauna. Temperature in the sauna around 110c. Sauna has 3 sets of benches on each side of the sauna. Almost like pews. The benches are very long and can pack many people in. The kiuas is gas powered, it never let up at all. This was another sauna with a classic Finnish guy making sure there was frequent löyly. The löyly packed a punch. The high heat with large number of rocks had the place holding great lämpömassa. Jumping into the lake afterwards (or diving!) was extremely refreshing. The walk between here and Kaupinojan was one of the most magical I’ve had in a long while."

Paul Lucas

"Absolutely love it, visited several times during my stay in Tampere. Can be crowded time to time. You can bring your own drinks and sausages, and grill it there."

Marko Koskinen

"So disappointed with this, my first Finnish sauna experience. The change rooms are small and thus cramped on the weekend. The showers are not with the change rooms, but outside the saunas. Toilet facilities are limited.

But incredibly to get from the change rooms to the saunas, you have to go outside and walk across a tarmac - no walkway, no cover and bugga all signage. Take sandals for walking between the change rooms and saunas.

Absolutely primitive sauna facilities. If this is as good as it gets in Finland, then it’s not for me."
