The contemporary art exhibitions are often well-curated and thought-provoking, with many enjoying the unique pieces, including those by celebrity artists. The cafe offers a pleasant break with good cake and views. Some visitors, however, expected a larger collection or more of the permanent works to be on display.
"We visited Heikki Marila exhibition that was well curated and perfect fit for the wonderful brutalist concrete building by architect Pekka Ilveskoski. There was an audio guide giving background information for the works and reducing the amount of typical texts on walls. The café was modest but had exhibits and a wonderful view of the lake. The sculpture garden outside is nice in the summer."

"This was impressive .. but did expect more from yhis place so I feel like I was let down.
Though the museum wasn’t that big, the art pieces there are beautiful.. also the plain concrete wall behind made those pieces stood out even more."
Sulata Dhakal
"This moderately small museum has very interesting exhibitions, the latest being WE by Thomas Houseago and also smaller exhibitions by Nick Cave and Brad Pitt. It's a place to see in itself, it is situated by the lake Nasijarvi in Tampere. It's about 20 minute walk from the central square of Tampere or you can take a bus to get there."
