Reviews Summary

Visitors describe Porte de la Monnaie as a 'nice monument' and a 'curious city gate' with a classical design. While some find it a sober structure compared to other gates, its historical significance as a former access point to the walled city is appreciated by those who research its past. It's often discovered accidentally and seen as a worthwhile observation for history enthusiasts.

"A small and sober structure compared to some similar triumphal gates in Bordeaux. Again another accidental discovery as I was visiting Bordeaux Conservatorium of Music. It's not far from the Stone Bridge, Pont de Pierre and Pont Saint-Jean. It's also known as the money gate amongst other names. From a purely tourist's perspective, its a curious city gate of classical design. Most interestingly is the history of this gate which is worth googling for more in-depth information. Glad I came across it, otherwise I wouldn't know it exists."
