What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
This hotel offers a beautiful location in the historic center with pleasant rooms. However, guests frequently cite issues with strict check-in times, limited access, and inconsistent amenities like heating and hot water. Parking costs and a basic breakfast are also points of consideration.
"Be aware if you book here that not only is check in only between 5 and 7pm but no access to the property is allowed outside these times. When requested access at 3pm to check-in or drop bags got no response to the buzzer and all gates locked.
Eventually got my call answered after 3 attempts and 20 mins only to get a rude response saying. You have an email come back at 5pm!! Awful attitude never known anywhere to refuse access even to drop bags.
Parking next to hotel full had to wait 30 mins for someone to leave to get a space, even then 18 euros per day. Beware they don't tell you this!
Breakfast pretty poor!
Front desk not attended,
Waited and looked all over for a staff member to check out and leave key. Nowhere to be seen so had to just leave.
Real shame about poor service and attitude as pleasant property"

"We stayed 1 night in Appart'Hôtel, last day of November.
When arriving, room was cold. After 2 hours, room was still cold, so we decided to go to restaurant earlier to get some warmth. In bathroom small heater, never felt warm in there.
Next morning: shower time (!): NO hot water, COLD water indeed in a COLD bathroom.
Breakfast: 1 service lady and 1 coffeepot for 8 tables. No need to explain further, I guess. Nice fireplace in breakfast room: no fire to be found in it..
When we payed the same service lady, we told her our complaints. We should have phoned, she said, but the man who showed us the room the other evening didn't even leave a phone number..
Without sorry, she grabbed the money, and this was it.. Yes, cash money, no debit cards, no invoice, no bill,..
If possible, avoid this place.More"

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider the breakfast offerings; while continental, it may lack variety for picky eaters. The lack of hot water in showers has also been noted, which could be an issue for families. Confirming these details and planning around the check-in window will be key for a smoother family stay.
💰 Budget Travelers
Look for deals that might include breakfast, but be prepared for a basic continental offering. The strict check-in policy means you can't save money by arriving early and exploring before paying.
🚗 Travelers with Cars
Consider if the convenience of on-site parking outweighs the cost and potential limitations for your trip. The hotel's central location means many attractions are walkable, so a car might not be essential once you've parked.

Navigating Check-in and Access
It's crucial for visitors to be aware of and plan around these specific check-in times. If your travel plans involve arriving before 5 PM, you'll need to make alternative arrangements for your luggage or activities until check-in is permitted. The lack of flexibility in this area is a significant factor in some negative reviews, despite the property's otherwise pleasant aspects.
Understanding the Guest Experience
However, several recurring issues detract from the overall experience. These include insufficient heating in rooms during colder months, a lack of hot water for showers, and poor Wi-Fi connectivity. The breakfast service can also be strained, with limited staff for the number of tables. Some guests have also reported issues with payment methods, with cash being preferred and invoices not always provided.
Parking and Additional Costs
Given the limited availability, it's advisable to inquire about parking when booking or upon arrival. If the on-site parking is full, guests may need to find alternative parking solutions in the surrounding area, which could incur additional costs or inconvenience.
