"Saint-Eloi’s Church was burnt in 1558 and nearly destroyed by French troops. Early 1560 the city decided to rebuild the church and assigned master- builder, Jean de Renneville, to restore it. The major restoration were necessary after the damage caused by the two world wars, the last one ended in 1985."
