Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the free, hands-on tours at Savonnerie de la Licorne, often calling them the best part of their Marseille visit. The guides are praised for their passion, knowledge, and multilingual abilities. The on-site shop offers excellent value for authentic Marseille soaps, making it a highly recommended stop for both an educational experience and unique souvenirs.

"Besides being a nice shop of artisanal marseille soap, they make make free tours about the preparation process, and they're AWESOME - the best thing I saw in Marseille.
Straight to the point, they show in front of you the process, let you touch the soap after each stage and explain its properties and some story.
Quite similar to the experience in the related museum, but better for the human guide and for the visualization of the process.
The guide (a worker) was also very kind and spoke in italian (besides knowing english and of course french)."

"Learnt so much on the free tour, which is conducted in English as well. Soaps smell great – have yet to use them so can’t say more. They have traditional Marseille olive oil soap, dishwashing soap, and a wide variety of scented ones."

Gen C

"A very fun and informative visit! It was supposed to last 30 min and it went on for an hour: the guide was clearly passionate and knowledgeable and was explaining in both French and English languages. I found it personally a very good experience, something to remember for the years to come. There is also a shop to buy good soap at a very good price: this is the best and useful souvenir/present to go home with."
