What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the château's beautiful grounds, historic cellars, and the educational and engaging wine tastings led by knowledgeable guides. However, some find the experience to be quite expensive for what is offered, with a few noting that group sizes and tour pacing could be improved.
"We had an amazing tour with Benjamin and afterwards the tasting. Benjamin knew so much about all the wines, we learned a great amount from him on a very friendly enthusiastic way. We had to take some wine home."

"Tour and tasting. Euro 59. If you nothing about Burgundy, then this is a place to go. But it is very expensive, in my view, for the tour and tasting. The wines I feel can get better for less money elsewhere. Has more of a corporate feel (and price) to it than a real wine experience. (The tour guide had to get a book out to find out the difference between how red and white wine is made). Beautiful house and grounds. But feels to me more about a money making exercise than giving guests a good wine experience ."

"Tour/Visit not as advertised on website. Group is supposed to be limited to 12 individuals, however, we had 16 people in our group. Started 15 minutes late and after 1.5 hrs from when the tour should have started we only got less than half way through our tasting. We had to leave due to another set of reservations (bike rental closed at 6 PM, tour was supposed to start at 3 PM) which we added a buffer of time but because of group size, tardiness and length not as promised/ advertised we were not able to complete the entire tasting. Questions from the group were not handled well which I believe unnecessarily lengthened the time of tour/visit. Lots of repetitiveness in the information provided and spoke alot about general winemaking in the region and nothing very specific to the chateau. A lot of this information can be found in other surrounding venues- maison des climats and cite des climats et vins de bourgogne. If you are looking for a great wine tasting experience in the area, highly recommend the chateau de pommard we had a very enjoyable time there."
