What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mont-Saint-Michel is widely praised for its stunning, unique beauty and the awe-inspiring Abbey. Visitors love the panoramic views and the magical atmosphere, especially when experienced with fewer crowds. However, many find the site to be overly commercialized, with high prices for food and amenities, and significant crowds during peak times.
"Not to be confused with the Abbey or other named sub areas of this fortress, the du nord area is outstanding for panoramic views of the mud flats, the horizon, and the structure behind you. Contrary to popular marketing, you can walk in the mud flats and not get excessively muddy..... just pick and choose your booted feet placement. Not many sea shells here....but if you look hard, you will find some. Stunning French Foreign Legion masonry and brick fortress work."

"I loved this place, wonderful scenery, great atmosphere, and despite the many tourists like me, I enjoyed it, all very well organized"

"MUST SEE/DO IF IN THE NORMANDY REGION. This place was incredible! The views and abbey are amazing - and there is so much access to so much of the abbey. It was amazing. Now for the details - parking is 3.3 km from the island and you cannot drive on the island. We were told it is about 44 mins to walk. There are shuttles but they can be full. We arrived around 3, had front parking and easy access in the shuttles. Take lots of pictures as the views cannot be matched."
