What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Maison Bergeret is lauded as a stunning Art Nouveau villa, with visitors particularly impressed by its architecture and Louis Majorelle's ironwork. While interior access is limited and requires booking guided tours, those who experience it rave about the knowledgeable guides and the beautifully preserved interiors, including a winter garden. The main drawback is the infrequent availability of tours.
"This was once a private mansion of a printer, Albert Bergeret, built by Lucien Weißenburger who also built the second addition to the now School of Nancy art nouveau museum. Of particular interest is the famous ironworker, Louis Majorelle (refer to Villa Majorelle for reference) supplied the ironworks for this building. It's now own by the University of Lorraine so there's no public access to see inside. But, I still admire the curves and lines that are synonymous with art nouveau style architecture. It's near Saint Peter's Church of Nancy and the Regional Hospital and Orly Park. It's again really worth a look especially if art nouveau is an interest and what better city to indulge but here in Nancy."

"What can you say about a stunningly beautiful Art Nouveau villa like this?
It's gigantic and worth every detour.
My wife had tears in her eyes when she saw it in the sunlight.
The only shame is that you can't just walk in. Currently (until August), you can sign up for a guided tour (see image with QR code). Unfortunately, we won't be in Nancy for the remaining dates. Hopefully, there will be more opportunities to see the villa from the inside in the future."
