What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Riquewihr for its breathtaking medieval charm, vibrant architecture, and picturesque setting on the Alsace Wine Route. Many highlight the beautifully restored apartments and the personalized service from hosts. Some find the village can feel overwhelmingly crowded, especially during peak tourist times, which can detract from the experience.
"Le Grand Cerf is a stunning apartment in the beautiful village of Riquewihr. The location is ideal- it’s less than a minutes walk to the main street and just a 2 minute walk to the best Boulangerie ever !! (Kouglhopf & Cie)
The apartment has two balconies with the most wonderful views across to Germany and over the rooftops of Riquewihr. From the bedrooms you have fabulous views of the very famous and world renowned Schoenenberg vineyard. It takes your breath away!
The apartment is so very thoughtfully and beautifully equipped- high quality glasses and cups and all the sofas and chairs and beds are so comfortable. The decor is stunning with wooden beams and it has a very cosy and traditional feel.
There is so much to do in Riquewihr from walking through the village, to wine tasting or walking through the vineyards onto neighbouring villages (and catching the bus back!) or catching the bus into Colmar.
A truly beautiful, relaxing and inspiring stay in a wonderful apartment. Thank you ."

"This was our third stay with Remparts de Riquewihr, and each stay gets better. This time we were in a single bedroom apartment, part of the old walls with a view out over the grand cru vineyards. The buildings have been renovated on the outside with 4 centuries old wood, beautiful half-timbered walls. Inside, beautifully decorated, with up to date wiring, plumbing and fire safety. But the best is the very personalized attention you get from Jean-Paul Krebs and his nephew Pierre, as well as Valerie, the receptionist. If you need anything, truly, they will make it happen."

"The Little Dragon is located in the centre of the village and gave us privacy but yet only a short 30 second walk to the main street.
It is Immaculately maintained inside and out with private secured parking if you need it. It was just as advertised in the pictures. The photos on the site say it all really. The place was very clean, well decorated, very well maintained in keeping with the character of the place and village, very well equipped, completely furnished with everything you need for your stay. Internet worked great as did the heating and hot water.
Valerie, the owners manager who met us at the property was great at explaining all that the little dragon had to offer, also all the great places to visit in the Village and its surroundings.
We were centrally located to be able to explore the region to the north and south and still get back to enjoy the property and Riquewihr every night.
A Must Place to eat is at Au Trotthus and Asian Tapas.
I have being going to Riquewihr with my wife several times a year for the last 6 years would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing holiday in this beautiful Village. In fact i have stayed in several of the owners, Jean-Paul K appartments and can’t fault any of them. All of them individually styled and furnished to a very high standard giving you a feeling of home away from home.
He has different apartments which will suit anyones requirements, needs and budgets and you should definitely check out his site i-love-riquewihr dot com before you make you choice.
Thank you again for making our Stay so great."
