What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Gendarmerie and Cinema Museum for its nostalgic charm and budget-friendly admission, especially for fans of the classic Gendarme films. The exhibits, including vintage cars and uniforms, are a hit, and the friendly staff enhance the experience. Some find it 'so-so' if unfamiliar with the movies, but overall, it's a recommended quick visit.
"Great little museum. It will make you feel nostalgic if you were a fan of the movies about St Tropez gandarmerie back in the days. Reasonable price of the tickets however, it would be useful to have either machine to change notes into coins or get newer model of commemorative coin machine that accepts credit cards payments."

"I’m glad that the building now serves as a museum dedicated not only to the gendarmerie but also to the films shot in Saint-Tropez — and not just the ones with Louis de Funès. When I visited about 25 years ago, the street still passed right by the house as it did in the movies, and the building was in terrible condition. Today, it’s a completely different story — much improved, and the exhibition is definitely worth seeing. Admission is also very reasonably priced. We spent just under an hour here and really enjoyed it. As I said, I’m happy to see how much has changed for the better. I can’t forget to mention the very friendly staff — they deserve praise! Highly recommended!"

"Beautiful place and near to port. There is an entrance fee if you like to see more but good to get a selfie with the picture at entrance."
