Reviews Summary
Maison Kammerzell offers a unique dining experience in a historic building with stunning cathedral views, making it a memorable stop for many. While the signature fish choucroute and ambiance are frequently praised, some diners find the food to be average or overpriced for the quality.
"We had our best dining experience in Scrzburg at this historic restaurant. We visited on the last day of our two-day trip. The restaurant, which is located in a historic building that was especially highlighted during the city tour, was extremely busy. Although we didn't make a reservation, they helped us a lot. Despite the rush when we arrived, they opened a table for us and welcomed us. I won't be exaggerating when I say that we had the best meat and fish meal ever in this restaurant with a unique view just below Notr Dame. The staff is very kind and attentive, the place is soulful and the food appeals to the palate. I think we left really satisfied and this restaurant is a must in the Notre Dame neighborhood. Don't leave Strasburg without completing your trip and relaxing in this place."

"The hotel is beautiful and historic and the service is attentive. However, the food is very mediocre; as a table we got the pork knuckle choucroute, sirloin steak, tartare and three desserts. The main dishes came out in less than 10 minutes and the taste reflected the quick prep, the steak was rubbery and hard to cut, the fries thin and crunchy, the pork knuckle had more fat than meat and the tartar was good but nothing special. In short, I'd say it's a place I'd come back for drinks but definitely not the food. The banana chocolate tart dessert was good."

"This is one of the oldest restaurant in Strasbourg with a rich history and a must visit place if you're in strasbourg. We came here for our 10th year anniversary. There are alot of outdoor as well as indoor seats on 1st and 2nd floor. Overall the food is average, not super fantastic but not surprising given the amount of tourist that folk here. I ordered the beef fillet medium rare and it came medium well. So I didnt even finish the beef. The fish was ordered is decent.
Service otherwise is prompt and they speak English well. No issues with other matters except a little disappointed with the food."
