What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
This stone bridge, built in the 1930s, is a vital and charming connection between Vienne and Saint Colombe, offering beautiful views of the Rhône and Gère confluence. While strategically important and often busy with vehicles, its underrated beauty and role as a gateway to historical sites make it a worthwhile experience.
"This stone bridge was built around the 1930s to replace the suspension bridge about 280 metres downstream (The Vienne Suspension Bridge). It's about nearly 200 metres in length and connects Vienne and Saint Colombe. It's a remarkably underrated bridge but full of charm when crossing the confluence of the Rhône and the Gère rivers. Perfect views of both left and right banks and a great way to enter the Museum and site of Saint-Romain-en-Gal Vienne at Saint Colombe side."
