"Went in the afternoon, was a bit crowded not gonna lie. Wanted to fly my drone there, but there are already people there doing videos and selling them and there are signs that ask for a 30 GEL fee to fly your drone, decided not to do it in the end.
Passed by a few days later in the morning and it was pretty empty.
Views are amazing and the monument itself is also really beautiful. Defenetly stop if you are around."

The History and Significance of the Monument
Despite its original intent, the monument has taken on a more complex symbolism in recent years due to evolving political relations between Georgia and Russia. However, it remains a significant landmark on the Georgian Military Highway, attracting tourists for its architectural distinctiveness and the unparalleled natural beauty it overlooks. The vibrant murals continue to be a draw, offering a splash of color against the dramatic mountain backdrop.
Travelers often stop here not just for the history but for the sheer spectacle of the Caucasus Mountains. The monument serves as a focal point for appreciating the vastness and ruggedness of the landscape, making it a memorable stop for anyone journeying through this part of Georgia.

Seasonal Activities and Considerations
Outside of winter, the region transforms. In summer, the mountains are covered in vibrant green vegetation, and the weather is pleasant for sightseeing and hiking. Spring and fall offer transitional beauty with blooming wildflowers or stunning autumn foliage, respectively. Each season provides a different, yet equally captivating, perspective of the Caucasus.
When planning your visit, consider the weather. While the monument is always there, the experience can vary greatly. Winter visits offer a snowy spectacle and access to ski resorts, while warmer months are ideal for enjoying the full splendor of the green mountains and potentially less challenging road conditions.
