What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Stahleck Castle is praised for its incredible location, offering breathtaking Rhine views and a unique stay within a historic fortress. Guests appreciate the friendly staff and simple, delicious meals. However, the steep uphill walk and early check-out times are noted drawbacks.
"The location and the view! We booked the IV+ room category to have a private bathroom and fullboard. The room is very small but clean, just enough for an overnight stay. The parking is located on the street and you'll have to walk going to the castle. The dinner was simple and delicious, same with breakfast (no scrambled egg or sausage). The check-in/check-out was quick and staff were great."

"Hi all at Hostel Burg Stahleck
I was there last week at the Karate Pratix seminar. I loved it there, and to be honest who wouldn't, I spent four days in a castle sleeping in a tower like a princess, with amazing views. And I met some lovely people.
The rooms were comfortable and spacious, we had our own bathroom and shower. There was two of us sharing a four person room.
The food was delicious, and the chef had no issues with me asking for a gluten free option. He was so kind and always had a delicious meal set aside for me.
When making your reservation mention to the staff if you have dietary requirements, so the chef can prepare beforehand.
The other two people who were lovely were the man behind the counter in the dining hall, and the lady on reception anything I asked for they would get for me.
Be prepared for a 15 minute up hill walk to the castle, which is mainly wooden steps and path. It is quite steep and make sure you have water with you, as you will need it.
The only thing I could criticize on was the early check out, as we were having breakfast between 8 and 9, and our karate class started at 9. So this did not give us much time to get up, dressed, fed, strip beds and tidy a bit, and put the last few bits in our bags.
But other than that the view was amazing and the atmosphere was so relaxing, the castle was beautiful and the staff were amazing.
See you all next year
Thanks for everything
Deirdre"
