What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Berlinische Galerie for its focused collection on art from Berlin, its excellent photography exhibitions, and its convenient Monday opening hours. Some find the initial layout a bit confusing, but the quality of the art and the affordable entry make it a highly recommended cultural stop in the city.
"Really gorgeous and culturally significant art work. Plaques were in German and English and many pieces has tactile versions for the visually impaired. Took about 2 to 2.5 hours to tour museum. Entry was about 10 euros."

"A very enjoyable experience!
The Berlinische Galerie offers a fresh and thoughtful look at modern art from Berlin. The exhibitions are well-curated and the space itself is clean, quiet, and easy to navigate. I especially liked the photography section and the way local history is connected to the artworks.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish there had been a bit more variety in the permanent collection. Still, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re into modern art or just want something a little off the usual museum track in Berlin."
Bahman Gilemard
"I absolutely adored this museum.
At the time of my visit there were two worthwhile exhibits and they deserved a good amount of attention each: 1 about the history of the collection and Germany as a collective item, and the second regarding work with unknown backgrounds or those in need of additional resources to secure information on province.
A great place to go both for art and for German history.
A+!"
