What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find the Lübeck Cathedral and its surrounding Domviertel quarter to be historically significant and architecturally impressive. Many appreciate the free entry and unique features like the 3 PM clock striking. However, some have been disappointed by unexpected closures due to events, and opinions on the interior's visual appeal vary.
"A lovely cathedral.
We came at 3 Pm on a weekday and got in for free.
We came just in time for the clock to strike 3, at three a figure on the clock started striking a bell (see attached video).
The other churches had more color inside but this one is larger and has a lot of gold and decor.
The churches in Lübeck remind me a lot of the churches in Riga, probably because they where both part of the Hansa trade league.
I do recommend.

"The big church in the center of Lubac. It's a pity that we didn't get there in time because the church was closing, so we didn't get to go inside. I think it must be very beautiful."

"Beautiful from the outside and can be seen from all over the city. Really stunning. Didn't go inside, but I saw other photos, looks boring. Definitely worth getting closeby for some photos of the red brick church."
