What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Outletcity Metzingen offers a wide array of international brands with potentially amazing discounts, attracting shoppers looking for designer deals. However, visitors should be prepared for crowds, especially during peak times, and be aware that store sizes and product selection can vary, with some items being older models. The convenience of public transport is a plus, but dining prices and limited luggage lockers are noted drawbacks.
"Wao! So many great brands staked-up at one place and discounts were amazing. Stopped there to see one black Jeans and ended up buying one black Jeans and one chinos plus lindt chocolates, gucci shoulder bag.
Parada shop was filled with good bags, just got late and missed my reserved bag pickup. But no worries, will touch it for sure on our next trip to Germany."

"Although its name seems as majestic from afar as an extinct volcano, it's now extinct. Traffic inside during Black Friday is a disaster. Finding a taxi is nearly impossible. # How many luggage lockers can you expect for a place that expects thousands of visitors a day? Not even 40, and they're constantly full. Even if you do find them, large suitcases haven't been considered at all. The lockers are small, and there's no alternative solution. ## The staff at the Welcome Center and Tax Refund office work tirelessly, but the lines never end. Even the outdoor areas are incredibly attentive and helpful, but the number of staff is woefully inadequate (I think they're the hidden heroes of this place). VIP customers probably have the longest waits. The parking lines are endless; most areas are full and require a fee. On a day like this, there's infrastructure work going on in many spots. ### The long checkout lines in the stores make it impossible to walk around. Most of the stores are very small compared to many outlets I've visited before (Boss, Armai, Gucci, Prad, Tommy was huge. There are few large stores). The selection is minimal, and there are very old models, which proves the name"outlet". It's impossible to see new series. In my opinion, this place is overloaded with attention, attracting far too much attention to justify its name! I'm giving Outletcity Metzinger a rating based on what I found comparing the unmet expectations thay have created. This is just my personal opinion."

Staff are really helpful, regardless in which shop you are, and prices are very reasonable.
Highly recommended if you are nearby."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Look for stores that might offer a wider variety or more spacious layouts to keep children entertained. While not a dedicated children's attraction, the excitement of finding a special item can be appealing. Pack snacks and drinks if you're concerned about food costs.
💰 Budget Travelers
Focus on stores known for offering substantial discounts and be prepared to spend time browsing to find the best bargains. While some items might be older models, they can still represent excellent value compared to full retail prices.
🛍️ Serious Shoppers
Consider the tax refund process and factor in the potential wait times. If you're looking for specific high-value items, it might be worth checking the outlet's website or social media for any pre-sale information or special promotions. Remember that the 'outlet' nature means prices are reduced, but the true value lies in finding items you love at a significant discount.

Maximizing Your Shopping Experience
Be prepared for potential queues, especially at popular stores and for tax refunds. The staff are generally attentive, but the sheer volume of visitors can lead to long waits during peak times. If you're traveling with luggage, be aware that the luggage lockers are limited and small, so consider packing light or making arrangements for your belongings.
For a more relaxed experience, aim for weekday visits, ideally in the morning or late afternoon. This will allow you to browse more comfortably and potentially avoid the longest lines. Keep an eye out for special events and sales, but also be mindful of the increased crowds they attract.
Transportation and Logistics
Once you arrive, parking is plentiful, with numerous garages and open areas available, though these typically incur a fee. Navigating the outlet itself involves walking between stores, so comfortable footwear is recommended. For those needing to store belongings, be aware that the luggage locker facilities are limited and may not accommodate larger suitcases, so pack efficiently if possible.
Understanding the 'Outlet' Concept
While some stores like Boss, Armani, and Gucci are noted for their size and selection, others can be quite compact. This can lead to a feeling of limited choice in certain boutiques. Visitors seeking high-fashion bargains should be prepared to hunt for deals and may not always find exactly what they're looking for. The 'outlet' designation means that prices are lower, but the value proposition is in finding desirable items at a reduced cost, rather than expecting current season stock at a discount.
