What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find the Open-Air Museum Molfsee to be an enjoyable and educational experience, praising the authentic historical houses and the vast grounds. While some appreciate the craft shops and cafe, a few note that certain buildings can be closed, and minor maintenance issues have been observed. Overall, it's considered a worthwhile visit for its historical insights and immersive atmosphere.
"You have a vast area to explore here. Nice actual houses that have been taken from places around Schleswig Holstein and reassembled here. You will take quite a bit of time walking through all of it, even more if you plan on watching the educational videos about the history. There are small shops scattered throughout the place selling old craft items. You also have benches, a cafe and clean restrooms if you need a break. Unfortunately not all houses are accessible. Also some information cards had been vandalized, apparently quite a while before, judging from the looks of it.
Still, all in all an enjoyable experience. Would recommend."

"Nice OLD house area and the way they lived about 200 years ago.interesting, but there were buildings closed so no entry and , the bathroom toilet seat was broken in half. The play area for kids was nice ,but the carousel was broken and prand probably will not be repaired. Shit happens. Big area to walk and a train to help with the transportation, price is reasonable. It was the 1 May."

"A settlement that has witnessed history. Each house has a different texture. The architectural structures are beautiful. There is an entrance fee but it is worth it. There are shops in the area where you can buy gifts. There is also a bakery. Definitely come. Set aside at least 2 hours."
