What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Schleissheim Palace for its impressive Baroque architecture, expansive gardens, and the value offered by the combined ticket. The on-site beer garden and reasonable parking are also highlighted as positives. However, some guests have noted that garden maintenance can be lacking in early spring, and exhibition information can be difficult to follow for non-German speakers.
"This place is huge. Great place to take a walk and the parking was very reasonable for 1€. We visited in mid May and were disappointed with the lack of maintained gardens. Very few planting beds were planted and we didn’t see any with perennials or other plants such as roses. Just a few were planted with annuals. Most areas hadn’t been mowed, but this might have been due to the practice of No Mow May for pollinators. The entrances to each building was difficult to find due to a lack of signage."

"The original Castle was destroyed totally in ww2, so it is rebuilt and transformed into a museum of Christianity collection and art from different cultures. The exterior though is very beautiful. just pay the combine ticket of 10€ so you can visit the 3 castles. This museum is divided in 3 floors and descibing the life of Jesus Christ. on the other side a small exhibition from old Austrian collection and art. worth seeing."

"This is a beautiful place, full of events all over the year. Concerts, theater shows, parades, folkfests. The garden is gorgeous, at all seasons of the year the view there is wonderful. In winter you can ice-skate in the frozen channel between the 2 castles. Any time in the year it is perfect for a walk, jogging or just sitting to read a book."
