"Nice and pretty adventurous hike through the Aposelemis Gorge. You can park your car near the Xerokamares taverna and then walk to the start of the gorge - check out the TripAdvisor reviews for more guidance on how to get there. The hike has been marked pretty clearly with red/white markings. However, at some point we completely lost track of them and decided to go back. Don't be confused if the markings guide you passed some fences along the way, they can be opened to get through."

"The gorge isn't as long or well-known as Samaria, but if you live near Hersonissos, it's a good place to hike.
It's full of greenery and plenty of birds. We didn't encounter any people.
The recommended route is from the mountain to the sea. The beginning is easy to find, but now (2025) the highway to the new airport runs through here. The beginning is well-marked, but when the gorge narrows, the signs disappear, and you're on your own.
There's certainly no chance of getting lost, but you have to walk in the middle of the river, and the several-meter-high boulders force you to search for good food. So, the middle 1 km took us 90 minutes.
Finally, you reach the sea in Analipsi, where a cold beer and fish will reward your efforts."
