Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Gramvousa Fortress for its breathtaking panoramic views and historical significance, deeming the challenging climb well worth the effort. While the fortress itself is impressive, the journey up the ~370 rocky stairs requires good footwear and hydration, and some find the time allocated on boat tours to be limited.

"After disembarking from the boat it’s about a 15 minute walk up ~360-370 stairs. Though hot in summer, the views over the fortress, Balos Beach, and surrounding water and mountains are spectacular and absolutely worth it!

We spent about 45-60 minutes between the walk up, wandering around these 16th century ruins, and taking loads of photos.

Suggestion: Wear good trainers/sneakers and take water. Many others wore flip flops but the steps up and around the site are rocky and uneven so support and grip are useful."
