"I was deeply impressed by the ruins. Many of the structures I had only seen in textbooks as a child, and now I had the chance to see them in real life. The site dates back approximately 4,000 to 4,700 years. Some areas have been partially restored, which helps to visualize how it might have looked originally. A truly remarkable and unforgettable experience."

"So much history here, a lot of it down to interpretation. Very exposed with not much shade, it also got quite busy from 10am so I suggest coming early. Definitely worth visiting though if you're in the area and highly recommend following it up with a visit to the archaeological museum in Heraklion."

"Steeped in history going back over 4000 yrs. Very interesting. You're allowed to walk around on your own or pay more for a guided tour. Prices start from €20 per adult. There is a cafe inside but didn't visit. It's a shame you can't get into the lower levels, but you can look at some from above."
