"Today the wooden ladder was not there anymore(see Petzi's review and the picture) With my tiny legs I wasn't able to get up the first section to get a steady and up with the rope. Instead i went left around and used the water hoses ro get up while my BF pulled me.
But oh my... One of the best gorges i ever done! So beautiful, a lot of climbing and scrambling, no boring walking on the tiny rocks"

"What an amazing and unexploited Gorge.
Parking is easy just under the Sarakina Gorge Taverna. The beauty of the trail starts immediately after the tavern , and within 15 minutes you are facing narrow gorge , impressive scenery and rock climbing with the use of ropes. The trail is exciting and challenging while admiring the rugged beauty. We were 2 overweight 50+ years old managing 4 children from 6-10 year olds. At times we were overwhelmed and intimidated with climbing and safety of kids, but they really enjoyed it and we got our work out. It is still unexploited so there is minimal signage , or trail markings and no guards or entrance fees. It took us slightly over an hour to reach the end of gorge and dirt road , and we opted to take the walk back on the road which was 30 minutes return to parking ( but with steep ascent ) …"

"There are some challanging parts for climbing. 4,6 year olds did it but not without giving me a white hair or two. Saying that, they loved it. The place is beautiful. Well worth a visit. Do not come in rain or high wind for the feat of falling rocks."
