St Gerasimos’ monastery in Kefalonia, Greece
Today we got to visit St Gerasimos’ monastery in Kefalonia. In it there was also the body of st Gerasimos. The cave is where he lived. It was really challenging and uncomfortable staying in there for 3 minutes, let alone live in there! Saint Gerasimos pray for us!

If you want to enter the area where the saint is resting but you're wearing clothing that doesn’t cover your shoulders or a short skirt, don’t worry there are sheet-like shawls available at the entrance that you can wrap around yourself.
The church itself is stunning, with a very special atmosphere.
If you’re already there, light a candle for your loved ones it can be a truly touching moment.

"Bit of a hidden gem this one. Although the building itself is not particularly impressive from the outside...inside is another story. Virtually all the inside wall space is covered by religious murals. Beautifully painted it must have taken months if not years! Most definitely worth a visit."
