What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Nymfes Waterfalls is praised for its beautiful, lush forest setting and peaceful atmosphere, offering a refreshing escape. However, visitors note that the falls can be dry in summer, and the access road and stairs can be steep, slippery, and sometimes littered, requiring careful navigation and a commitment to responsible tourism.
"Location is great as it’s easy to get there by car, you simply walk down the stairs from the car park which are a little steep but it’s manageable. Unfortunately, I visited during the summer during a heatwave of 40°C and so there was virtually no waterfall. However, I should’ve taken this into account. The area was still lovely, there were many tadpoles in the plunge pool and all the plants were blooming. Even got a laugh with some other tourists who visited at the same time so it was a fun shared experience."

"The road to the waterfall is difficult, for medium/large cars. You can leave your car at the sports base located 2 km from the waterfall, the last part of the road, easy to travel, is accompanied by very beautiful landscapes. Unfortunately, in the summer the waterfall is dry."
Marius Vasile
"Cute little hidden waterfall, nice last mile walk among olive trees, if you want to leave the car before the destination. Unfortunately it sits on a pile of trash, and the road there is littered with plastics. Already busy before season opening. There were some hiking routs starting from the stream worth exploring."

The Allure of Nymfes: Nature and Mythology
According to local legend, the waterfalls are named after the nymphs, mythical female spirits of nature, who were said to frequent this spot to bathe and socialize. This mythological connection imbues the location with a sense of enchantment and mystery, making it more than just a scenic natural site. Visitors often speak of the peaceful and calm atmosphere, a stark contrast to the more bustling tourist areas of Corfu. The presence of tadpoles in the plunge pool during certain times of the year also adds to the natural charm.
While the natural beauty is undeniable, it's important to be aware of the environmental conditions. Reviews sometimes mention litter, highlighting the need for visitors to be responsible and pack out all their waste. The accessibility can also be a factor, with unpaved roads and steep, potentially slippery stairs requiring careful navigation. Despite these challenges, many find the experience of reaching and enjoying the tranquil beauty of Nymfes Waterfalls to be well worth the effort.
