"The first time I went to Tai Tam Reservoir, I took a guided tour of the Water Supplies Department and it was an easy two-hour walk. If you go by yourself, you can choose to take the 1M bus and get off at Wong Nai Chung Gap terminus, and follow Tai Tam Reservoir Road to the side entrance of Yang Ming Villa. There are also minibus No. 16X and bus No. 14 at the return location of the guided tour today."
