What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise the Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden for its diverse animal collection and the unique experience offered by the adjacent Zoo Cafe. The Biodóm is a modern highlight, and the botanical gardens provide a peaceful retreat. Some visitors note that certain enclosures could be updated, and queues can be long during peak times.
"Lots to see and do here. Having a map definitely helps - get one at the entrance or downloading to your phone. The shows are later in the day - if you plan on seeing one. Coolest picture was of the apes - one was sitting right up against the glass resting. Placed to eat throughout the zoo - cold treats and hot foods and plenty to drink. Fresh running water can be found in several places for filling cups, bottles or containers. Enjoy!"

"What a lovely zoo. Buying a ticket was straightforward and we only had to wait a few minutes. Ticket seller spoke good english and helped us navigate the appropriate ticket. Inside the zoo is well maintained. Lots of shade made walking around easy. There's a 'show' on somewhere in the zoo every 30 minutes and the ones we went to were good. Loved the Australian section and the cage with the bats a good experience. While school holidays we never felt overwhelmed inside."

"Absolutely huge zoo! Wow! Everything was clean, looked pitch perfect. Plenty of animals. We were here for the first time ever and stayed for 6 hours (without breaks). Just wonderful… they offered so many free shows during the day!"
