Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Godafoss for its breathtaking beauty and historical significance, often calling it a 'must-visit' and one of Iceland's most spectacular waterfalls. Its accessibility and the captivating 'Waterfall of the Gods' nickname add to its charm. While generally well-managed, some note that it can get crowded during peak times.

"Nice waterfall. The west bank parking had less people but east bank offered better views and a way to get down to the water. There's a walking bridge that connects the different sides of the falls. The path and parking lots are very handicap accessible. There's no drone and camping signs posted, but there were many drones flying."

Amber Larson

"Amazing waterfall to check out. There are lot of angles to check out the waterfall from. The waterfall was amazing to check it from all angles. See the river itself from the bridge they had available was also nice. Some viewing spots you’ll get a good mist from the waterfall while you watch, which feels refreshing. Worth a stop!"

Nikolai Mannsfeld

"One of the most famous and beautiful waterfalls in Iceland — and for a good reason. Goðafoss is wide, powerful, and incredibly photogenic from every angle.

The waterfall is easy to reach with parking on both sides of the river. There are well-maintained paths and viewpoints that let you see it up close from different perspectives. We walked along both sides and each offered a slightly different but equally stunning view.

It’s an easy stop on the Ring Road and absolutely worth taking a bit of time to explore rather than just pulling over for a quick photo. We stayed longer than expected, just enjoying the sound and the mist."
