Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently rave about Landmannalaugar's breathtaking, otherworldly landscapes and the unique experience of soaking in natural hot springs. The challenging drive is often mentioned, with many agreeing it's worth the effort for the stunning rewards. Some caution about the unpredictable weather and the rugged road conditions.

"You will need a 4x4 to get into this remote highland, but once you reach it you will stumble from one absolutely jaw-dropping and breath-taking vista into the next. Absolutely must see. Weather changes every 10 minutes, so come prepared for anything."

Daniel D. Reimer

"The drive out is beautiful and the mountains are stunning. I would warn you, it's an hour drive on the F roads, which are gravel and full of pot holes and puddles, it took us longer than the GPS said to get through it. If you're not up for being jossled for over an hour I would advise against the drive. Also do not cross the river unless you have researched it and feel confident. Easy enough to park in the first lot and walk. The short trail up into the mountains is lovely, despite the rain and cloud during our visit."

Miriam Smith

"As they say the harder it gets the better the view .. and it truly is . It was slightly raining when we drove and arrived at the parking lot. We were worried at first of our rental car an old model AwD Suzuki AllGrip but it survived the rocky terrain roads. Glad the rain stops when we started hiking to Blahnjukur. The reward, the views at the hike in Landmannalaugar is all worth it."
