"Nature made it fabulous..We went by Bike.Riding was also a nice experience.. Trekking for 10 minutes to reach on the top- Mullanpara- view point. From the top you can see the valley full of lush green and Perumennamuzhi reservoir area..I felt the view as Switzerland which I had seen in travelogues.. Proper protection have given to avoid casualties..But we have to take utmost care while climbing over the rocks..
At present free entry..But can expect an entry fee like Rs.30 soon for providing better facilities..Nearby Lot of resorts are available if you want to stay there."

"We recently visited this place. The view from the room is really nice, as shown in the pictures, and the food tasted good — though the menu had only three items available. However, the overall experience was disappointing.
We found a dead lizard in the private pool, which was very unpleasant. The staff behaviour, especially the middle-aged man at the reception, was not professional and lacked basic customer service. The place is quite small, not very clean or well-maintained, and there’s no safe parking area. Room hygiene was also below standard.
This place has potential because of its beautiful view, but it definitely needs improvement in cleanliness, service, and management."

The 'Gavi of Malabar': Understanding Vayalada's Charm
The journey to Vayalada is part of its allure. While accessible by road, the final stretch involves a trek, adding an element of adventure. This walk, though short, can be challenging, especially during the monsoon season when the paths become muddy and slippery. Visitors are advised to wear appropriate footwear and carry rain gear. The effort is rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and the Perumennamuzhi reservoir, a sight that many describe as akin to the landscapes of Switzerland.
Beyond the natural beauty, Vayalada is also emerging as a destination for staycations, with several resorts and private pool villas offering accommodation.,,,, These establishments aim to provide a comfortable base for exploring the viewpoint and its surroundings. However, potential visitors should be aware of mixed reviews regarding resort cleanliness and service, suggesting that thorough research is advisable before booking a stay.
Navigating the Trek and Terrain
During the monsoon season, the terrain becomes significantly more challenging. The paths can be very muddy and slippery, making sturdy, non-slip footwear absolutely essential. Visitors are strongly advised to wear appropriate trekking shoes or boots. For those visiting during the rains, carrying a raincoat is recommended over an umbrella, as strong winds can make umbrellas difficult to manage.
Despite the potential challenges, the trek is considered beautiful and rewarding by many. It offers opportunities to immerse oneself in nature and enjoy the scenic beauty of the region. The effort involved in reaching the viewpoint is often described as well worth it for the spectacular vistas that await at the top.
Resort Stays and Local Amenities
When considering a resort stay, it's important to note that visitor experiences can be varied. While some guests praise the beautiful views from rooms and good food, others have reported issues with cleanliness, such as finding debris in private pools, and unprofessional staff behavior. It's advisable to read recent reviews and perhaps contact the resort directly to clarify amenities and services before booking.
For immediate needs like refreshments, a small restaurant is available along the trekking route, offering basic snacks, water, and tea/coffee. However, for a wider selection of dining options and local cuisine, visitors may need to travel to nearby towns like Balussery or the city of Kozhikode.
