Reviews Summary

Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta is lauded for its divine serenity, breathtaking misty views, and unique hilltop temple location within Bandipur National Park. Visitors appreciate the spiritual atmosphere and the scenic journey. However, the mandatory bus system can lead to long queues, and facilities at the top are basic, requiring visitors to plan ahead with essentials.

"Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta is a stunning hilltop temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, offering an ethereal pilgrimage and nature experience.
The prefix "Himavad" (covered in mist) is apt, as the hill is frequently shrouded in dense fog, giving it a mystical atmosphere.
Located within the core zone of Bandipur National Park, it is the highest peak in the reserve, offering breathtaking panoramic views.

Private vehicles are strictly prohibited past the forest check post. We need to park own vehicle at base, parking is Rs 60. Afterwards Visitors must use the mandated, KSRTC bus service (Charge Rs 70/ person) to reach the temple at the hilltop from the base.
Visiting hours are limited, typically 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, due to wildlife movement.
Facilities like restroom is available at top but there is no food stalls at the top. So carry your own water and snacks if needed. Temple serves prasadam which is again divine.
Overall, it's a highly recommended destination for its divine serenity and unique, misty natural beauty."

"Himavad Gopaswamy Betta

This is a nice place where the temple of Venugopalaswamy is situated on the Hill Top.
A nice get away and also a divine place.
The facilities on the hill top are limited.
Private vehicles are not allowed point the forest check post point.
There are two options to visit the temple

1/ KSRTC buses ply between the forest check post to the hill top.
They charge 70.00 per adult for both ways, for ladies it is free if you show them the Aadhaar card.

2/ Forest department also has a private jeep which can accommodate around 6 people of a family and they charge 800.00 for both ways.

During the holiday season and weekends, the crowd is more, the respective authority should arrange more buses."
