"My visit to Chokramudi was truly unforgettable. Standing at around 7200 feet above sea level, the place is a mesmerising blend of clouds, hills, and endless greenery. As I trekked up, I was surrounded by mist that made the whole trail feel magical. From the top, the view was breathtaking — rolling tea plantations, mist-covered mountains, and a peaceful silence that felt almost unreal. The cool breeze and cloud bed made it seem like I was standing above the world. It’s a perfect spot for anyone who loves nature, photography, or simply wants to escape into calmness.
How to reach Chokramudi:
From Ernakulam South to Munnar (bus at 4.40pm)
Munnar ksrtc dormitory stay (220 per person)
From Munnar to Chokramudi (Theni bus at 6am)
Chokramudi entry fee 500 per person
Better to use trekking shoes.
I must say, this is an underrated trekking spot"

"One of the tallest peaks in Kerala. Forest Department oragnizes guided trekking to the Chokramudi peak. But it is by no means an easy trek. However, when you reach the top you will not want to go down. It is so enchanting. You can see the large expanses of Munnar tea plantations, the surrounding tall hills, the bluish green valleys and the serpentine roads that circle Munnar. In the evening the setting sun will shower a red glow on the neighbouring mountains making them glimmer in the fading light."

"Chokramudi Trek
This trek is open and available on weekdays, with charges of ₹500 per person. The trail has 14 milestones, and we were able to cover all of them — the views along the way were absolutely incredible.
Although it’s often described as beginner-friendly, do note that the mid-sections are quite steep. People with vertigo may find those parts a little uncomfortable. It’s not recommended during the monsoon (and in fact, the trek remains closed at that time).
The trek takes around 3 hours to complete and reaches an altitude of nearly 7,200 ft above sea level. A forest officer accompanies you as a guide, and they provide water bottles and biscuits for the journey.
We were lucky enough to spot the famous Nilgiri Tahr at the top — a wonderful highlight of the experience!"
