Abandoned Palace in Bundi, India
Hmm! Tharagarh fort. Including one of the most romantic benches ever seen. Wonderful place , loved Bundi as a whole!
"Jaisalmer Fort" built in 12th Century - Rajasthan, India
Rajasthan has such amazingly beautiful architecture. Bundi fort is probably my favorite, worth falling in love with. Sad to say, the post-colonial governments have completely neglected these heritage sites.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bundi Palace is lauded for its magnificent Rajput architecture, stunning murals in the Chitrashala, and breathtaking panoramic views. Visitors appreciate its historical significance and the immersive experience of stepping back in time. However, some note that the palace could benefit from better maintenance, and the steep climb coupled with a lack of amenities like water and restrooms requires visitors to be well-prepared.
"A magnificent place not on the tourist trail.
I visited the palace with a guide that I'd prearranged. The guide was very knowledgeable & took me through highlighting various item, which otherwise I would not have known.
The highlight is the artwork throughout, which is more impressive as you climb higher within the palace.
My guide also took me to areas otherwise not accessible to tourists travelling on their own. On this point the guide showed me hand prints of the various Maharani, which are locked away in the Maharani bedroom.
It is essential to wear good footwear as many of the ramparts are steep & the stones slippery from wear over the years.
This could be quite hazardous in the wet.
The palace is illuminated at night. Also if you stay close by, thousands of bats awake and leave the rooms underneath the palace, which is quite a sight."

"Historic Rajasthani Fort with Breathtaking Views and Practical Challenges
The 1600s fort in Rajasthan offers a rich historical experience and a chance to immerse yourself in the grandeur of the past. The fort’s architecture is stunning, with its massive walls and intricate details reflecting the splendor of a bygone era. It’s an incredible place for history enthusiasts and those looking to explore the cultural heritage of Rajasthan.
Parking is a breeze, with ample free space available close to the entrance, making it convenient for visitors. The entry ticket is reasonably priced at ₹100 for Indian nationals, while non-Indian visitors are charged ₹600. Although the ticket prices differ, the experience inside the fort is equally awe-inspiring for all.
However, there are a few practical challenges that visitors should be aware of. First, the fort lacks basic amenities such as water and washrooms. It’s essential to carry your own water and be prepared for the absence of restrooms, which can be inconvenient, especially on a hot day.
Additionally, the fort requires a steep climb, which can be quite demanding for beginners or those not accustomed to such physical exertion. The ascent is worth it for the breathtaking views and the sense of accomplishment, but it’s important to be prepared and take your time if you’re not used to climbing.
In summary, while this historic fort in Rajasthan offers an incredible journey through time and stunning views, visitors should come prepared for the climb and the lack of amenities. It’s a must-visit for those who appreciate history and architecture, but a little forethought and preparation will ensure a more comfortable experience."
