"While on a shopping trip to Mani Majra market accidentally stumbled upon this old fort right in the middle of the bustling bazaar.
The fort is magnificent in spite of it’s crumbling structures. I was told that some hit Hollywood movie was shot here.
Wonder why the UT administration doesn’t promote it as a heritage and a tourist spot."

"Its not exactly a review by me. But am very very curious i mean honestly I used to study in a school nearby this fort when was in class Ukg or Lkg now am going to be 40 in another 2-3 years. School name as much as I remember was "National Pride model school" jaha tk yaad h muje. School ek dum samne tha and morning assembly is fort ke ground mei hoti thi. Stairs lgi hui thi iron rod wali un pr se hokr jate the. Even had a school function too in that ground where I performed. And I remember our Principal Sir used to reside in this fort with his family. See was very young at that time but whatever I shared I clearly remember. Is there anyone who can relate if so please share. It was around 1992-93 jitna yaad hai."

Exploring Manimajra Fort: A Glimpse into History
While the exterior of the fort is visible and can be admired from the surrounding market, direct access inside is generally restricted. This is primarily because the fort is considered private property, with a family reportedly residing within its premises. This lack of public access leads to a common sentiment among visitors: a desire for the UT administration to promote it more actively as a heritage and tourist destination, allowing more people to appreciate its historical and architectural value.
Beyond its historical and cinematic connections, Manimajra Fort also plays a role in local cultural traditions. For over 70 years, its grounds have been the venue for the annual Ramleela play, a vibrant celebration that brings the community together. This ongoing tradition underscores the fort's continued relevance in the local cultural landscape, even as its accessibility for broader tourism remains limited.
