"It was a refreshing experience. Surrounded by the beautiful Anaimalai Hills, the place is full of greenery and peace. This waterfall is part of the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and has been a popular local spot for years.

The water flows from around 60 feet and forms a nice natural pool at the bottom where people can enjoy a quick dip. The water was cool and clean, and the sound of the falls was so relaxing. The place is also home to many monkeys – fun to watch, but you have to be careful with your bags and snacks!

There's a small parking area, and they have basic changing rooms, though it could be maintained better. One thing to note is that during weekends or holidays, it gets a bit crowded. I heard that in the older days, this was just a hidden local gem, but now it’s a known weekend escape for nearby towns.

The entry fee is ₹30 per person, and the best time to visit is just after the monsoon, when the water is flowing beautifully. Overall, it’s a lovely nature spot to relax and unwind with friends or family. A peaceful and natural experience close to Coimbatore."

Sometimes, the best memories are made from unplanned stops — and that's exactly what happened to us.

We were on a road trip from Pondicherry to Valparai, cruising through the misty morning roads, when we stumbled upon this absolute gem — Monkey Falls, also known as Kaviyaruvi Waterfalls. With no big plans, no expectations, just six friends chasing the hills — and then suddenly, this magical place appeared.

The gates had just opened (around 7 or 7:30 AM), and we were the very first to enter. What happened next? It felt like we had our own private waterfall.

The cool, gushing water, the sound of nature waking up, the sunlight peeking through the trees — it was surreal. For over two hours, we played, laughed, and just lived in the moment, completely drenched and happy. No crowds, no rush — just us and the falls. Honestly, it felt like a scene out of a movie.

And here's the twist: despite having a 3-day trip planned through Kerala and Valparai, this one stop — this spontaneous detour — became the most memorable part of the entire journey. That’s how special this place is.
