"Beautiful waterbody requires nature based interventions for restoration. Lake water is polluted with sewage, fishes are caught regularly. This lake attracts large birds like Pelicans and Painted storks. Wader birds like little stint, egrets,herons, sand pipers. Other birds like purple moorhen, dab chick, bronze winged jaccana and Kites can be spotted. Shore vegetation provide habits for many other species like dragon fly, damsel fly, butterflies, Insects and reptiles (snakes and terrapins)"

"One of the beautiful lakes and one of the bigger sized water body of Coimbatore catering the water needs of people , around singanallur / vellalore. Well maintained too. Corporation started boating, but discontinued it. The stop itself is identified as boat house only. Myself along with my kid, ride boat , when commenced. It was one of the pleasure trip. I request the concerned, to commence boating in singanallur lake. Nevertheless, I never saw this lake with least water. Contrarily, during summer time, I noticed many birds arrive , to entitle the lake as birds sanctuary."
