Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the surreal beauty of the White Rann, especially under a full moon, and the vibrant cultural immersion at Rann Utsav. The 'Road to Heaven' and birdwatching opportunities are also highly praised. However, some find the Rann waterlogged if visiting too soon after monsoon, and resort prices can be on the higher side.

"Right now, with the amount of water after the heavy rains, doesn't look the white desert will look the way we all know it.
Notwithstanding, the vast stretch of water till the eyes can see gives a magnificent scenic beauty.
One small portion has dried enough to give you a glimpse of how the white desert would look.
The preparations for the Rann festival are still in progress and likely to get interesting by end of November / December. Plan your visit in December.
Right now, less crowed, tolerable climate and quiet.
The sunset over the marshy wetlands as well as the dried portion is breathtaking.
Another well-known destination is the Road to Heaven. 40 Km stretch towards East between Khavda and Dholavira. The road which runs through the salt flats or the serene water after the monsoon on both sides of the road creating an illusion of driving towards the sky.
This stretch is also known as the "Flamingo City" of the Great Rann. You will witness flocks and flocks of them."

Manohar S

"Beautiful landscape of India worth visiting for all. "Rann of Kutch " is not a single area where it's marked as "White Rann" for tourists but the entire region is Rann (desert). Don't stick with the "White Rann" view point marked for tourism - drive around and enjoy. The drive through Road to heaven and otherwise is just amazing and mesmerizing. if you have a vehicle, drive around, explore and experience.
We were a lil early for white Rann view as it is still water filled (unexpectedly high monsoon in 2025) and will take 2+ months for water to dry up and see the white sand (salt) carpet layer. The water filled Rann has a different charm and lot of migratory birds (flamingo, pelican, different types of cranes and more)."

"Spent 2 nights at the property.... well organised, good food, professional arrangements.... we went to travel on the Road To Heaven, with salt pans all around...."

After the monsoon, the presence of water on both sides of the road creates a stunning optical illusion, making it appear as if you are driving directly into the sky.Reddit

This area is also a haven for birdwatchers, especially during the migratory season.
